My return came mid Pandaria. I was bored one Sunday, so upgraded my account, got some game time, and logged in.
There was lots of new mechanics and features to come into the game, and it was a lot like learning a new game. And to be honest, I don't really know what to say about it. Partly because I don't remember my thoughts on it at the time. My gaming friend joined me in wow, and we put all our characters into one guild. One of the new features of the 'new wow' was that you did not need a guild for raids. You could do them in random groups. Infact my progression in SOO was FASTER than my ICC progression. So much so that I actually finished SOO before ICC.
Other features I liked with the arrival of MOP was the more balanced method of getting gear. Instead of rolling for it, it was given to you if your class required it.
I also liked the ability to learn new skills at any level and start levelling them in Pandaria without going all the way back to starting areas to start afresh. In a way Pandaria to me was WoW2.
World of Warcraft Wonders
I am a strong player of World of Warcraft. But unlike most, I play for the fun of it. I am not a hardcore raider, random raids do me fine. I like the lore of Warcraft, and I possess several books, but I am not the know all and be all. This is a blog of my own findings in the World of Warcraft.

My return proper. The Ex-Cineribus days. . .
So one day, I was talking to a friend of mine over a game of Minecraft, and he told me that the 'good guys' of OED had split to form a new guild called Ex Cineribus. So I re-activated my account, and logged in.
The guild was still relatively new (We were mid Lich king, about a month before ICC maybe?) but all the good guys were there. Ross, Gaz, Dan, and a few others. We had some good players join us. Wally, Sanctus and who could forget Smokadrood.
We became a social raiding guild. Focusing on Social, but raids being an option as opposed to a requirement as most guilds on Doomhammer were back then.
We progressed nicely, we became well known for running good pugs, and somewhere along the line I became second in command of the guild. I can't remember exactly how, but I think it was so Ross could focus on Education. It was nice being the top hunter in the guild. Although that was soon overtaken by Gaz who had this knack of being able to be top in every class he plays. Everything was going well, then Cataclysm Came.
I need to point out now that I hold nothing against any of the people already mentioned in this post. But the next one, I would not piss on him if he was on fire. He goes by the name of Lark. We called him 'chatty man' because he looked like the gay UK comedian Alan Carr.
Somehow, he muscled into my spot as guild number 2. Something about 'wanting to become a hardcore raiding guild'. I objected and instantly this put a rift between me and Chatty Man.
Before cataclysm came out we made arrangements to which classed people were levelling first so we could get raiding as soon as possible. I had three level 80 characters at the time. My Hunter, a Prot Paladin, and a Resto Druid. Gaz wanted to level his hunter, so mine was out. Ross' main was a druid, so mine was out. And there were two other paladins so no room for mine. So after going through all the classes, it was noted there were no Shamans so I decided to level one. So although these guys were going from 80-85, I would have to start at level 1. By the time I got to 85 (about ten days) I was already seriously lacking in gear. I had also levelled as a resto shammy in mind. Only for chatty man to decide he didn't want a shammy healer, and got one of his mates priests in to heal instead and I had to go ele.
I could not get the rotations right. My dps was shocking (pardon the pun) The next raid, I was sidelined for a pug. And again the following week. Then the next. I decided to have a break again. ...

And I opened my eyes again. . .
This time, with a new guild (The One Eyed Dragon) I started to learn the game. I learned about questhelper, and various addons that helped me not only to level, but to optimise my class. I found it a lot easier levelling from 25 where I left the little noob hunter, and ploughed my way to 80 where she became a fully, err, grown? Dwarf Hunter.
Soon, the guildies were dragging me through heroics. I watched as my dps slowly climbed from 200 dps right up to 5k. Then we started hitting raids. I had never done a raid before. And here I was in one. It was a bizarre feeling being in teamspeak, and finding out the tha Guild Master was a female. Not only a female, but one in her 50's. And there was me worried about being in my early 30's.
The guild was doing well, but there was one bugbare that made me take my first break from the game. When Ulduar opened, the officers would not do guild runs. Instead, only having officer runs. 'to learn it so we can teach you'. I thought this was a bit unfair as as usual it meant they got all the good loot early, then we would play catch up. Especially as I was number 4 hunter in the group.
Let me explain that bit. There was 4 hunters in the guild. Dew, Fatalclaw, Miffy and me, Daffodill. Fatal was best hunter. But Dew was class leader and hated that Fatal beat him on DPS and hated that I ignored Dews advice, and took Fatals. Miffy was Dews Squeeze. She was lower geared than I. Dew had all the top gear. Fatal, was in the middle. And I was between fatal and Miffy. In a raid. if a hunter piece dropped, Dew would roll on them despite already having all naxx gear. Rolls were based on DKP so he had a lot more points then me and would always win the gear. BUT he would give it to miffy. It got to the point where I didn't bother rolling. Fearne (GM) /w me one day asking why I wasn't rolling. Miffy had rolled. Fatal didn't need it. I did, and dew was silent. I said to her 'because if I do, Dew will roll and win it for Miffy'
'Don't be daft' she said.
So I rolled, dew rolled as well. Miffy got 8, I got 49 and dew got 70. And he gave it to miffy. I got the following response from fearne:
'Oh....'
The next raid, Fearne asked dew to step down as he already had all the naxx gear and we didn't really need 4 hunters. For some reason, miffy didn't go either. I got 4 new pieces that raid.
Anyway, so after having a falling out with the guild, I left for another break.

Foreword
I have been playing Wow since late Vanilla. However, I did not start raiding till Lich King.
Why?
Because back then the game was very complicated to me, and as there were no real guides you tended to swing it. I did not know that a hunters armour was leather, and that agility was the primary stat. At level 27 I was called a noob because I needed on an item that was cloth. 'But it has intellect on it' I said. Then I was kicked from the group.
I came back mid BC because loads of playert from a guild in another game decided to come and play it. (Archlord since you ask) so I ended up on Stormreaver EU playing a Tauren Hunter called Tikx.
I got to 70, but still didn't raid. I was just doing the daily quests I could muster with my shit gear, and just earning gold to gear up lowbie alts.
Then along came Lich king.
I went to borean tundra, like many, many others, and started my grind to 80. But I had a problem. Stormreaver is a pvp server. It took me 3 weeks to get to 72 and leave that area. So I went back to my little Dwarf Hunter which I had left on Doomhammer, armed with the knowledge I had from Tikx, and I Decided to sort her out. She had resto leather, healer cloth and a mish mash of armour. So I went to stormwind and had a look at the auction house. Armed with my 5g, I ould buy nothing. Then I noticed something I had in my bag, from my Deadmines run from which I was booted. A hyacinth Macaw. On auction house for 5000g. I put it on for 4000g and it sold in less than a minute.
Waited the hour for the gold to turn up, then I bought everything I needed to go on my murderous rampage.
TBC. ..
